Modupe Kaftan Dress

The Modupe Kaftan is a relaxed, oversized kaftan made from mid-weight 100% cotton with gold embellishment. It has a Mandarin collar, wide statement sleeves and slits on both sides, so it is easy to move in.

Wear it loose on warm days. In colder months, belt it over jeans or layer it with our bodysuit.

Handmade in small numbers by our seamstress Helen in Lagos, Nigeria.

Before You Order

Will it fit me?

This is one size, cut loose. The chest measures 42" and the length is 50". Measure your bust before ordering. For the relaxed, oversized look, your bust should be a few inches smaller than 42".

I am petite. Will it work?

The dress is 50" long, so it will sit lower on a shorter frame. Measure from your shoulder down to where you want the hem to fall.

Is the white a bright white?

No. The white in the print is a soft cream, or off-white.

Does the fabric stretch?

No. It is 100% cotton with no stretch.

Care

• Hand wash in cold water, or use a gentle cold machine cycle.
• Turn inside out and wash with similar colours.
• Do not wring, twist or rub. Gently press the water out.
• No bleach. No tumble dryer.
• Hang to dry in the shade, away from direct sun.
• Iron on the reverse side, on a medium heat. Do not iron over the gold embellishment.
• A gentle professional dry clean is also fine.

Cotton is a natural fibre, so it may shrink a little (up to 5%) and the colours may soften over time. This is normal and part of its character.
