Does the fabric stretch?

Only slightly. There's a small amount of spandex in the fabric, but the fit comes mainly from the generous, oversized cut rather than stretch.

How do I get it on? Is there a zip?

There's no zip. It has a half-placket button front, so it goes on over your head and buttons partway down.
