Ngozi Pyjama Set

A print this good deserves to be seen. Ngozi means “blessing” in Igbo, and I picked this Dutch wax for it: sweeping navy and white curves, orange stripes and golden crackle panels on a bright red ground.

The set is cut from mid-weight 100% cotton Dutch wax. The shirt is cut loose, with a notched collar, long sleeves and covered buttons in the same print. Crisp white piping runs along the collar, down the front, around the cuffs and along the hems of the wide-leg trousers, which have an elasticated drawstring waist and pockets.

This Christmas, wear the full set the way Clara Maria does, with big gold earrings and mustard flats. Or split it up: the shirt open over a white T-shirt and jeans, the trousers with a black polo neck and boots. And yes, it still works for Christmas morning.

Of the 20 Ngozi sets ordered so far, only one has come back. One customer wrote: “So good, fits very well, I purchased another one.”

Before You Order

Can I really wear these out?

Yes. That is what they are made for. In our photos Clara Maria wears the set with gold earrings and mustard flats. The Dutch wax print and white piping make it look like a co-ord, not nightwear.

How does it fit?

This is a pyjama set, so it has a loose, relaxed fit. Choose the size you usually wear with us. If you'd like it looser, go one size up.

Which size should I choose?

Measure your bust and hips, then check the size guide. The size guide shows the measurements of the clothes, not your body, so the numbers will look big. Clara Maria is 5' 10" with a 28" waist. She wears M-L. Judith is 5' 10" with a 30½" bust and a 23" waist. She wears XS-S. Sita is 5' 7" with a 34" bust and a 24" waist. She wears M-L for a looser fit.

I'm between M-L and L-XL. Which one?

Check your hips. The trousers measure 46" at the hips in M-L and 50" in L-XL. The shirt measures 46" at the chest in M-L and 48" in L-XL.

How long are the trousers?

The inside leg is 27" in XS-S, 27½" in M-L and 28" in L-XL. Clara Maria and Judith are both 5' 10". Clara Maria wears M-L and Judith wears XS-S.

Do the trousers have pockets?

Yes.

Can I sleep in it too?

Yes. It is 100% cotton, so it breathes. It is a mid-weight cotton, so it has more body than a light pyjama fabric.

How do I keep the colours bright?

Wash it inside out in cold water, away from light colours, and dry it in the shade, out of direct sun.

Can I buy the shirt or the trousers on their own?

No, Ngozi comes as a set. But each piece works on its own too, so you get more than one outfit from it.
