The Black Grand Skirt

A black skirt with enough shape to make a simple top feel like an outfit. The Grand Skirt is cut from textured dobby cotton, with a full gathered shape, an elasticated drawstring waist and deep side pockets.

Wear it with a tucked-in white shirt, a simple vest or your favourite knit. Add flat shoes for the day or heels when you feel like dressing up. The fullness is part of the look.

Before you order

Will one size fit me?

Check your waist measurement against the Size & Fit section. The elasticated waist has a drawstring to adjust how it sits. The extended measurement is the maximum stretch, so allow room for comfort.

How full is the skirt?

The gathered shape is deliberately generous. A tucked-in shirt or a closer-fitting top will show your waist and balance the volume. Wearing the waistband higher or lower changes where the hem falls.

Will it work if I am petite?

It will sit longer on a shorter frame. Compare the skirt length in Size & Fit with a skirt you already enjoy wearing, measuring from where you would place the waistband.

Is it lined?

Yes, it is fully lined. If you prefer a lighter drape, removing the lining would be an alteration; speak to a dressmaker before making any changes.

Does it have pockets?

Yes, deep side pockets.

What can I wear it with?

Try a white shirt with the front tucked in, a simple vest, or a knit that finishes at the waist. Add a cardigan for another layer.
