Ariya Cotton Midi Skirt

Think fireworks against a night sky. Ariya comes in our Fireworks print: bursts of red and yellow on a blue background, crossed with fine yellow lines. The colour is bold, but the blue base makes it easy to wear with pieces you already own.

Ariya is cut from premium Dutch wax cotton. Its tight weave and dense cotton give the fabric natural structure, so the skirt holds a tulip shape that curves out like a balloon and gently draws back in at the hem. The fully elasticated waistband makes it comfortable to wear all day, and side pockets keep it practical.

Wear it with a fitted knit or a tucked-in shirt so the shape can stand out. Add heels for evening or flats for the day.

What shape is Ariya?

Ariya is a tulip shape. It has volume through the hips and skirt, then curves gently back in towards the hem, like a balloon. Check the front, side and back photographs to see the shape before choosing.

Where does the waist sit?

Ariya is designed to sit at your natural waist. If you prefer, you can wear it lower, on your hips.

How does the waistband feel?

The waistband is fully elasticated and feels firm, so it holds the skirt in place. There are no belt loops or drawstring.

How do I put it on?

Ariya is a pull-on skirt, with no zip or buttons.

Which size should I choose?

Use your waist measurement and the size guide. If your waist matches a size exactly, that size will feel relaxed and comfortable. If you prefer a snugger waist, choose one size down: the elastic stretches well beyond the waist measurement, so it will still fit. For example, with a 32" waist, the XL feels relaxed and the L feels snugger. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing down.

I'm petite. Will it be too full or too long?

Ariya is a full skirt by design, and the structured cotton holds that shape in every size. If you'd like a little less fabric, choose one size down: it is slightly smaller and ½" shorter. On someone around 5ft 4, it falls towards the lower calf. Wear it with a fitted top tucked in, so your waist shows, to keep the look balanced.

Does the fabric stretch?

No. The Dutch wax cotton has no stretch. Its tight weave and density are what give it structure and hold the tulip shape.

How long is the skirt?

Ariya is a midi length, from 34 inches (86 cm) in size S to 36 inches (91 cm) in size XXL. Where it falls depends on your height and where you wear the waistband. Our model Clara is 5ft 10 and wears size M.

Is there a matching shirt?

Yes. The Ariya Adaze Shirt comes in the same Fireworks print. Wear them together as a set, or apart with pieces you already own.
