The Story Behind The Fabric Used in Our "Don’t Be Unhappy" Skirt
This fabric is called Olympia. It is also known as "Don’t be unhappy because I walk with my hands tied.” The more popular name for this beautiful fabric is: “Aban Nkaba”(Handcuffs). Aban Nkaba is a popular Ghanaian Highlife song and it gave way to this cloth design. Some regard it as a political song and it is about a man going to prison. Part of the lyrics read “Don’t be unhappy because I am in prison and walk with my hands tied.” The rings in this design were linked with the handcuffs mentioned in the song.
This skirt comes in two colours and two sizes.
